PLUMBERS’ DISPUTE
EMPLOYERS’ AGENT.
CRITICISES COMMISSIONER.
(Per Press Association. - ) AUCKLAND, July 13.
Since neither party was prepared,to einbarass its case for the Arbitration Court, the wages, hours of work and overtime clauses in the plumbers’ dis-, pute, which was argued before the Conciliation Commissioner, Air. Al. J. Reardon, in Auckland, were not discussed, and were referred to the Court. Only a partial agreement could be reached, on the machinery clauses. During the hearing, an agent for the employers, Air. AV. E. Anderson, objected to a remark by the Commissioner about the employers’ wages offer. Later, he suggested that Air. Reardon was acting as an advocate for the workers. The Commissioner replied that he was only making suggestions. If they were not acceptable, they were not acceptable, and there they ended.
