U.S.A. Payments TO AND FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Rec. Alav 4. at 5.5 p-m.) WASHINGTON, May 3. The United States Department of Commerce's annual analysis of the Nation’s international payments, lias indicated that the uncertain political conditions of Eurojve, combined with the effects of the devalued American dollar, brought 1.741 million dollars ■worth of foreign gold into the United States during 1935. The physical exports from U.S.A, for the year totalled 2,282 million dollars, or 234 million more than the imports. Tho silver imports in the United States for the year, totalled 355 million dollars. _ _ American tourists spent 393 million dollars in foreign countries, as compared with 129 million dollars spent by foreigners in America, lear - ing the' net tourist expenditure by this country, 264 million dollars. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. RESUME STRONGLY. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) SYDNEY, May 4. The wool sales were resumed to-day. The market was very firm at rates ruling at the close of the main Sydney selling season, with a tendency' in the sellers’ favour for all well-grown wools and especially autumn short, clips. There was good general competition, with a particularly keen demand on Japanese and Yorkshire account, and good support from Germany, France and the. local mills. Prices of twenty pence per lb. and over were common, while the top price for greasy merino was 226. The offerings totalled 9442 bales, of which 6793 were sold, also 2928 sold privately. >
