ANNUAL MEETING. At the 9th annual meeting of the Karoro Sports Club, the president, Mr Jas. McDiairmid. presided. The balance sheet showed that the club had in hand £248 Is 7d, compared with £2ll 12s lid last year. The election of officers resulted: — Patron, Mr 11. D. James; president, Mr Jas. McDiarmid (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messi’s W. Young, A. E. Izzard, J. Tennent, J. B. Paton land R. Thompson; treasurer; Mr .1. Cornish; secretary, Mr W. Li. Coumbe; auditor, Mr J. Tennent (ali re-elected). The Karoro handicap chop, 14ins undiep’hand|, the main event at the next sports -to be held on the Karoro Djomain on February 8, twill carry the following prizes, £4O and Plumb gold medal given by Messrs Fayette R. Plumb Inc., for the winner; £lO for second; and £5 for third. All unplaced in the final will receive £l. The prizes in the upright 12ins chop will be £l5 and Plumb racing axe, £5 and £3 respectively.
