WOOL SALES. <Aus & N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received November 12 at 10/45 p.m.) SYDNEY. November 12. At the wool sales 12.194 bales were offered, 11.606 being sold, and also 1686 privately. Competition was again animated and excellent clearances were effected. The market was very firm. Greasy Merino made a fresh record to 26|d. THE EXCHANGE RATE. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH. November 12. At the annual meeting of the South Island Freezing Companies’ Association held to-night, the question of any reduction in the exchange rate on London was discussed. The opinion was unanimously expressed that a reduction in the present rate would be disastrous to the farming community while other exporting countries continue on their present basis of exchange.
