The legality of the transport of racehorses by motor on Sundays was up hold by His Honoi*, Mr Justice Reed, in a judgment on appeal to-day, when Basil R. Blackball appealed against a conviction by a Magistrate of working at hi s calling on Sunday by transporting in a laotor-fioat and the appeal was upheld. UNUSUAL COURSE ADOPTED. (Aus. and N.Z. Jamieson the trainer, and Bartie, the jockey, were disqualified for 12 mouthy the horse Country Party, has been disqualified only for the Batman Stakes and not for a year, as was at first reported. The stewards stated that bets on the Batman Stakes would not be effected by their decision. .
