STOCKTON DISPUTE

SETTLEMENT ARRIVED AT (Our Own Correspondent.■) WESTPORT, September 11. It was heard yesterday afternoon that following a meeting of the Stockton Aliners’ Union, at which Messrs. A. AlcLagan (National Secretary), T. Whittle (National President) and T. Longmuir (District delegate) were present, a settlement of the dispute at the colliery had been arrived at, and it is expected that operations will be resumed on Thursday. It is stated that a vote on the matter resulted in 98 supporting a resumption and 62 voting against.
