Benny Lynch, of Glasgow, defeated Jackie Brown, the title-holder, the referee stopping the fight in the second round. Brown was down eight times. He also lost the British and European titles. HUTCHINS v. ROBERTSON. NEW PLYMOUTH, September 9. F Hutchins (EH ham) defeated Watty Robertson (Gisborne) on points in a boxing contest over ten rounds nt Eltham to-night. If was a good contest in the earlier rounds, and fairly even. Hutchins was down for nine in the ninth round, but h<» made a remarkable recovery, and finished strongly.
