MOTORIST PROPOSAL. TO KEEP PEDESTRIANS ON ONE SIDE. (Per Press Association) NELSON, August 13. After referring to national safety first campaign, Dr. S. A. Gibbs (President) at the meeting of the Automobile Association, at Nelson, moved that the following remit go forward to the South Island Motor Union: “That, on country roads, where there are no footpaths available, pedestrian traffic must keep to the right side, and face the oncoming traffic, and that in the event of _ accidents arising from breaches of thio provisi on, the onus for the accident should lie upon offending pedestrians.** The motion was carried, the President remarking that it was a start.
