THE WEATHER
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 12. The weather report and forecast are as follows:— General situation: The anti*cyclon r over New Zealand is now moving slow ly eastwards its centre to-day being east’ of the North Island. A depressi on is sl'ill located over the south-west Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds northeasterly to northerly, light, to moder ate, hut gradually freshening. Seas in New Zealand waters: Smooth to mod eraJte, later rising in the south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate To fi'esh northerly winds; seas moderate,"but rising in the southern half. Weather: Fair, mild and hazy generally, but cloud is gradual 1 ? increasing, especially in the western districts/asd later rain is» developing on the West Coast of the South Island, and also in the far north and south. Foggy conditions on parts of the East Coast, of the South Island.
