NEW POLITICAL GROUP
UNDER LLOYD GEORGE Dea! With Labour Suggested (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received August 11 at, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 10. The “Observer’s” political correcpondent predicts the formation of a new Left Central group in British politics within a fortnight, following Mr. Lloyd George. Mr. Lloyd George is attending a private luncheon on Monday next, August 12, with Lord Allen, Mr. Walter Layton and other signatories to the recently issued book, “The Next Five Years.” Sir H. Samuel (Liberal leader) who has repeatedly advocated greater unity among progressive parties will be present, thus showing that the coolness between him anfi Mr. Lloyd George is ending. The “Observer” says: The luncheon party will discuss a deal with the Labourites, thus proposing that Liberal candidates shall not fight at the General election where it would damage Labour, which on its part, would make a reciprocal arrangement. Although Lord Allen’s group probably would not join Mr. Lloyd George as individuals, they may co-operate with him. Mr. Lloyd George, significantly, addresses the trade union leaders on August 14
