WAIUTA NOTES.
(Our own correspondent.) Mr W. Ryan (Westport), a former well-known resident of the township, paid a brief visit during the weekend, renewing old acquaintances. The local branch of the are holding a re-union in the Club Booms on Saturday evening. The annual meeting takes’ place at 7 p.m., and the reunion commences at 8 p.m. AH returned men are asked to attend. Mr M. Lawlor sustained a fracture of the right wrist, while employed at the mine on Friday last. After being attended to by Dr. K. Brockenshire, he was removed to the Reef ton Hospital. Mr Lawlor deft for Christchurch by Thursday morning’s express#. Mr J. Lavas, who has been an inmate of the Reefton Hospital has returned home. Messrs L. Page and 11. Parkinson of the Waiuta Soccer Club-, have been selected in Hie Country .team to play Town at Greymouth on Saturday. Followers of the League code heard with regret of the accident to Mr 11. Morris of Reef ton. His many friends locally wish him a> speedy recovery.
A large number of local residents visited Christchurch for the week-end. with thp excursion, and all report spending an enjoyable time.
