Major General Benjamin .Fonlois, the Chief of Army CorpH, has retired, at his own request, thus terminating hi» controversy with the House of Representatives’ Military Affairs Committees, which had charged General Foulois with making an improper purchase of aeroplanes, and with misinforming the Committee by s-iy’ng that Army aviators were capable of flying the malls in the winter of 1934, when President Roosevelt cancelled civilian air mail contracts, after which several Army flyers were killed.
