The report also stated that the cost; of the elections in 1924 (when there was no actual voting) was £234, in 1927, £4ll, and in 1930, £355. In reply to Cr. Ryall the C'erk said that he did not see any way in which the amount could be apportioned among the Council Power and Hospital Boards. It could only be taken as one third each. Cr. Afuleare said that it was an an omaly that the Council should have to pay for the e l eetion of representsfives to the Power Board and Hospital Board, particularly the Power Board, which was a financial concern. Cr. Ryall said that there was no way of making the Power Board pay their share, but a remit might be sent to the Counties Conference on the matter. Cr. Mulcare: I was just going to suggest that. Cr. Ryall moved that a remit should be sent to the Counties Conference to the effect that Power Boards should pay the cost of electing the County representatives. The motion was seconded by Or. Mu 1 care and carried.
