DANISH FARM CRISIS
Due to Politicians APPEAL TO KING. (Aus. nnd NZ. Cable As.n, • COPENHAGEN, Ju’y 29. King Christian appeared on a balcony, when forty thousand farmers from all parts of the country, demon* Htratad before lhe Eoyal Palace, at' Sinalienborg. The farmers are threatening a stoppage of production, unless their grievances are remedied the i hief of which is the removal of politicians from agricultural organisations. The crowd cheered His Majesty’s speech in wh’eh he sympathet : caly referred the deputation to the States Minister. The carrying out of the threat’ to stop will obviously affect Danish exports of Britain. “We came to negotiate and now are returning for action,” decared the farmers’ Fader, after a deputation to t’he Prime MmisCer who promised to negotiate with his colleagues. The Prime Minister s 4 atod that a solution within a fortnight was impossib’e as the farmers demanded lower taxes and higher prees.
