The long debated and complicated Bank Reform Bill, vi,tal'y revised by Senator Glass, passed the Senahe by a viva, voce vote. Two Radical amendments were defeated. The first, which would have incorporated Father Coughlin’s ideas of a Central Bank,, went down by 59 ’*o 10 and the second advanced by Senator La Fo’ette which would have prevented the banks under-writing, securities, was lost, by 39 to 22. As approved, the Bill tends to central’sc control of bank credit in the Federal Reserve Boarcr. AGRICULTURE ACT UPHELD.. VANCOUVER, Jify 2S. The Memphis (Tennessee - ) Federal Jugde, John Martin, upheld the constitution al i'ty of the Agricultural Adjustment Act. dismissing a suit to recover 6563 dollars, raid by A. Memphis Packer in processing taxes. The case will be s ent for appeal to the Supreme Court.
