TRIAL MATCH AT HOKITIKA. A trial match in order to select the West Coast representative side to meet the All iftdia team at Greymouth on June 26, was played at Cass Square, Hokitika,, yesterday afternoon, under atrocious weather conditions, there being an almost incessant downpour throughout! the match. Although goo.d_hockey was out of the -Question, the play under the condi- [ "lions was of quite a fair standard, the stick work of the Greymouth forwards and halves being quite good. Greymoutlh won by five goals to two. The scorers for Greymouth were Weir (2), Eatwell (2), 'and Devonport (1), whilst Fleming netted Hokitika ’s two goals. Most .prominent in the Greymouth team were Perrin and Vaughan (halves), Eatwell, McHugh and Weir (forwards). Smith (full-back) played an outstanding game for Hokitika, whilst others prominent /were J. Hurren, Aforgan and Fleming. The game was capably controlled by ’ Afessrs W. Honeywell and W. J. Butler.
