STORMS IN FRANCE. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) PARTS, May 28. A storm, which stopped the tennis championships, wa s one of many which did great damage throughout France. A cloud-burst at Amiens flooded the low-lying quarter to a depth of six feet. The inhabitants took refuge on the roofs, and wore rescued by boa’s. Five soldiers practising at the Garrison shooting range, which became a lake, are missing, and it is feared that they were drowned. Numerous cottages were overwhelmed, and a textile factory was damaged to the extent of £150,000. Lightning killed a man at Rheims. The crops in many districts were submerged, and communications disorganised throughout the country.
