WOOL MARKET. (Aus. and N.Z. Cabin Assn.) BRISBANE, May 15. At the wool sales the demand was keener and more widespread. Values showed an advance, and are now approximately 5 to 7} per cent, higher than at the close of the sales last week. Top prices: Greasy 17d; scoured 251<1. LONDON, May 14. At the wool sales 11,170 bales were offered, including 4393 New Zealand. About 9454 Australian and New Zealand were sold. There was a firm tone, the prices for best merino tended to harden. The offerings were well absorbed by Home and Continental buyers. New Zealand halfbred, lamb slipe CMF/Belfast top fifteen pence—average 13 3-Bd. The “Yorkshire Observer’’ says: Traders are of the opinion that combing merinos will be dearer before the Australian season ends, owing to continued heavy consumption. Referring to the renewal of the German-South African barter agreenient, the “Observer” adds: Until
