£l6OO TOURNEY. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, May 15. Unprecedentedly high scoring marked the qualifying rounds of the Dunlop £l6OO professional golf tournament at South port, in which 250 participated, over birdlike and hillside courses. Scores over 80 were common. One player took 106. The qualifying aggregate was 162, the highest in 1110 history of the competition. The standard scratch scores total 151.

Following were the leaders: Charles Whitcombe headed the 113 men to qualify, with 144, next being Lacey with 146. Others included the following: Branch; Davies, Seymour 149; Alliss 150; Hudson. Rhodes 152; Busson, ’Enstorbrook, Compston. E. Whitcombe 153; Padgham (last year’s winner). Cotton, R. Whitcombe 154; Mitchell 156; Havers 158.
