(Our Own. Correspondent.) HOKITIKA, May 15. There is considerable interest locally in next Saturday’s rep. rugby football match, Westland versus Grey, which should ait tract a good attendance. The teams should be evenly matched. The local combination are getting some practice before the game. Great interest is being manifested in this year’s Winter Show at Kokatahi on the 28th and 29 , th inst. Entries close on Monday. Visitors from all pants are assured of a good day's outing.

Board’s resolution of 17th April was rescinded. J. M. Quinney was refused 80 acres on top side of junction of Hurd Creek and Taipo River. The annual meeting of the Westland County Council will be held on Wednesday next for the election of Chairman for the ensuing term. The weather has been dull to-day, but the temperature was not so low as previously.
