The Davis Cup teams are practisng at Eastbourne, but to-day fou)mence practice at Devonshire Park, whereon the Davis Cup lie begins on Saturday. Andrews has arrived. Stedman and Malfroy are due to-day. The Australians will be chosen to-morrow Wallis Al yers, in the “Daily Telegraph,” says: While an Australian victory in the first round, of the Davis Cup can be confidently predicted on relative form, Stedman will no ; be easily beaten by Australia’s second singles player, while Australia will need the * best elTort to win the doubles.
Hopman, Hip “ Sun-llerald’s ’ correspondent, writing from Eastbourne says: “Andrews is the only New Zealander here. F practised singles with him and found his forehand good but backhand weak. He needs much practice in order to hold our best.”
