The Government of Egypt has issued a decree cancelling the gold clause in all international financial contracts carried out with Egypt, thereby making legal the payment of its obligations in paper currency. DUBLIN. May 2. Mr De Valera, in the Dail, stated that the Free State had withheld from Britain £4,900.000, including £2,960,-00-0 in land annuities. British duties on Free State produce yielded £4,692,000.
Mr MacEntie announced that *he income of the Free State fr«nn foreign investments totalled £9.000,000 in 1933.
