The funeral of the late Mrs Harry took place to Waimangaroa Cemetery yesterday. A short service was conducted at the Mission Hall. The late Mrs Harry was over 77 years of age. and for over a quarter of a century had resided at Burnett’s Face. She commanded the highest respect of the people 'of Denniston, and her passing has occasioned profound regret. Iler husband was killed in an accident 10 years ago. She is survived bv five sons. Tom (Cossnock, Australia), Dave (Wanganui), Les (Greymouth), Albert and Stan (Denniston), and four daughters, Mrs Leibe (Newcastle. N S.W.), Mrs Luff (Westport). The annual report. which showed the Club membership to be 127. was, together with the balance sheet, adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: President. Mr D. Gj Campbell. Payhlon were received with regret. Opening day was fixed for Faster Mondav, and a special tournament will be arranged for Max- 6. The West ('oast Championships will be held at Westport this year. Tt was stated that Mr J. A Clements, professional of Christchurch, would be visiting Westport early In lhe season.

races at the carnivals held during the past season were entertained at a social held in St. John’s Hall by the members of the Westport Swimming Club. Games, dancing and a dainty supper were enjoyed by all. Trophies W’.rn during the season were presented as follows: —Sydenham Cup, Madge Parkinson; Elite Cup, Don McLellan. The runners-up were Madge Robertson and Bill Todd respectively. Shipping: The Rata sailed early yesterday morning for Greymouth. The Kaitoa is in port.
