LEAGUE FOOTBALL
Pirate Club ANNUAL MEETING. Over thirty playing members were present at the Pirate Rugby League Club ■' annual meeting, held at the Lyceum Hal yesterday morning. Mr. George O'Connor presided. Prior to commencing the business, all present stood in silence as a mark of respect to the late Mr. E. Martyn (father of Mr. Leo. Martyn, senior captain). The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. A. Lees, senr.; President, i Mr. J. R. Anderson; Vice-Presidents, Messrs, A. Anisy, A. Kyle, J. Anisy, junr., W. Sharp, senr.. H. Moore, W. Davies, A. Nelson, P. Keating, W. Chunn, R. Harrington, W. Ryan. R. Leach. J. Brown, junr., L. Harvey, J. Stokes. H. Leach, S. Stewart, F. Faulkner, G. Anderson (Kaiata). J. Hassall, D. Foniston, Mesdames J. D. Wingham and A. Marshall; Treasurer, Mr. R. Donovan: Secretary. Mr. G. O’Connor; Committee. Messrs. W. Ryan, M. Kennedy. J. O 'Connor, R. Donovan, B. Ramsay. R. Harrington, and the President and Secretary; Delegate to West Coast Rugby League, Mr. B. Ramsey; Club Captain. Mr C. O’Connor: Delegate to Junior Advisory Board, Mr. J. O ’Connor. Senior selectors nominated were Mr. N. Griffiths and Mr. W. Ryan: junior selectors nominated were Messrs. J. Stokes and B. Ramsey. Referees nominated were Messrs. W. Ryan, S. Smith and A. Fielding. Messrs A. Anisy, B. Ramsey, T. Hunter, J. Stokes, and W. Barlow were nominated for election to the West Coast Rugby League’s Management Committee. The President was instructed to interview Mr. N. Griffiths with the request that he accept nomination for the Management Committee. It was decided to nominate senior, junior and third grade teams with the possibility of a fourth grade team, in the forthcoming competitions. Eight new members were elected. The election of team captains was held over till the first plaving Sunday. Members’ subscripitions were fixed at seniors ss. juniors 2s fid, and thirds Is. It was decided to accept the offer of the Marist Club to play a practice match on Sunday next. The Secretary was instructed to write a letter of appreciation to Mrs. Marshall for the use of the dressing room at Revinrton’s Hotel during 'last season. The newly-elected committee was instructed to meet on Friday next for the purpose of arranging for the hire of suitable training quarters. ' L.
