Many West Coast friends will re gret to learn of the serious illness of Mrs F. P. Jones, late of Kumara, and now of Kaponga, Taranaki. Mr A. 11. Jones of Runanga, loft yesterday for Kaponga. Cory Wright (Wellington), Captain T. F. Watson (London), Miss Watson (London) Dr. Doctor (Wellington), Dr. Tennent (Wellington). Passengers by yesterday’s express to Christchurch included Mr. and Mrs. P. Sweetman (Cobden). Mrs. J. Wright (to Palmerston North), Mrs. H. F. Hubbard (Gladstone, to Sydney), Messrs W. Walls (on return to Christchurch), J. Redpath, J. AL Patterson (on return to Dunedin). C. Morris (on return to Dunedin), G. Black, and W. A. Flavell (on return to Dunedin). The King and Queen, according to present arrangements will remain at Eastbourne until March 26, when they will return to Buckingham Palace. On March 28. they will drive to Victoria Station, to welcome the Duke of Gloucester home from the Empire tour. Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales will act for the King at the second levee at “St. James’ Palace on March 22. The death has occurred of Mr. James Jermyn, of Seddon, father of Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn, of Greymouth. The late Mr. Jermyn was born at Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland, in 1859, and came to New Zealand in 1880. For the past thirty-five years he had been engaged in farming in the Awatere district, Marlborough. lie is survived by a family of five sons and five daughters. His wife predeceased him six years ago. Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn and Mrs. Jermyn left for Blenheim yesterday, to attend the funeral. During the Archdeacon’s absence, the parish of Holy Trinity will be under the care of the Rev. E. W. Marks, of Cobden.
