REEFTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, March 13. Large consignments of lambs from Mr Watson’s farm at Crushington, and from Maruia were sent by train yesterday to the Addington stock market.
Mr Waters, Commissioner of Crown Lands, Nelson, and Mr Sutton, Crown Lands Ranger, Westport, were in Reefton last evening on official business.
Mrs E. Nyberg, of Greymouth, was a visitor to Reefton to-day.
At a party held at Mr C. Dobson's residence on Monday evening advantage was taken to make presentations to Mrs Solomon and Miss Pascoe, who had been ardent workers on the Committee, previous to their departure for Hokitika, whore thev are to reside. Reference was made to their activities in the cause of Methodism, and wishes were expressed for their future health and happiness in their new positions. The Reefton Cricket Centre met last evening, there, being present Messrs B. H. Winchester (chair), W. Blom, Bateman and Campbell. Fixtures for the second round were set down for March 17, Reefton v. Nelson Creek at Reefton; Waiuta v. Tkamatua at Waiuta; Waratah a bye. March 24, Waiuta v. Nelson Creek at Nelson Creel?; Waratah v. Tkamatua at Reef ton; Reef ton a bye. March 31, Waiuta v. Reef ton at Waiuta; Waratah v. Nelson Creek at Reef ton; Tkamatua a bye. April 7, Waiuta v. Waratah at Reefton; Reefton v. Tkamatua at Waiuta; Nelson Creek a bye. At the annual meeting of Waratah Rugby Club last evening, Mr J. Crossman presided over an attendance of twenty-four members. The election of officers resulted as follows; President, Mr J. B. Auld; Vice-Presidents, Messrs P. Kane, W. Brett, I. Allen, T. Trving, *E. W. Spencer, J. Trving, J. Hislop; Secretary-Treasurer. Mr S. Allen.: Club Captain, Mr J. Smith; Vice-Captain, Mr L. Mcßene; delegates to Union, Messrs P. Kane, N. Collins, J. Trving, and J. Crossman; coach, Mr J. Crossman. Subs were fixed at 2/- for seniors and 1/- for juniors. The Secretary was empowered to open a Post Office Savings Bank account. Tt was resolved that the usual euchre evenings commence at the Oddfellows’ Hall on Thursday week. Reference was made to the generosity of. Mr J. B Auld and Messrs Archer and Son during the past year, and it was resolved that letters of appreciation be forwarded
