NEW ANTARCTIC LAND
Whaler’s Find NORWAY ANNEXES IT. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) OSLO, March 12. The Norwegian oi] tanker Thors* havn, belonging to the Lars Christen* sen Whaling Company, discovered new land in the Antarctic, situated between 80/45 east, 67/50 south, and 73/00 east, 69/10 south, in the Enderby Land quadrant. The territory, which is regarded as the missing link between King Leopold Land and Queen Astrid Land and Lars ChristenPen’s Land, is partly icicled, without vegetation. The captain took possession on behalf of Norway, naming it. Ingrid Christensen’s Land, after the wife of the head of the Whaling Company.
The Antarctic export Aagaard, announcing the discovery, urges that Norway should immediately claim equality in the Antarctic,, annexing nil lands between the eastern limit of Queen Maud’s Land and the western limit of Crown Princess Martha’s Land. Ft is believed that Britain is sym pathetic to the proposals.
