PROPELLER KILLS BARRISTER. BRISBANE, February 20. Robert Emmett O’Connor, one of Queensland’s best-known barrister % was killed at Toowoomba, when h? was struck on the head by the whirling blades of the propeller of the New * England Airways monoplane O’Connor, who was about to return to Brisbane, was passing under the propeller when he was hit. The air mail plane from England has arrived. The plane also carries a British Post Office Air Ministry delegation. LORD SEMPILL’S FORCED LANDING. A WALK THROUGH JUNGLE. (Received February 20 at 9.40 p.m/) BATAVIA, February 20. Lord Sempill, the aviator, arrived at Banjuwangi by motor bus. He states that he made a forced landing in darkness in East Java. He walked for hours through the jungle, after which
he was picked up by the motor bus. Lord Sempill intends to return to’his landing place with fuel supplies, and to continue his flight if possible. MOSCOW, February 19. The Soviet air-liner, which has been
missing since February 1, en route to Archangel was found in a swamp with one passenger still aboard. The pilot, mechanic and a passenger were found, hungry and exhausted in the snow, some distance from the
machine, having wandered for 18 days on the skis wherewith the aeroplane was fitted. A fisherman discovered the stranded • viators after a vain search by aero plane and hunters.
