REEFTON NOTES
(Out Own Correspondent). REEFTON, February 18. Among the Nelson bowlers who on Saturday visited Reefton, were two former Reefton residents, Mr R. Scoltock and Mr A. Whitehorn, who receive/! a hearty welcome from old friends and acquaintances in Reefton. Mr and Mrs T. Dellaca and Mr and Mis F. Collis, who have been on a motor tour of the North Island, returned on Saturday evening. Mrs J. C. Bain is visiting Reefton and is the guest of Mrs W. Gore Porter.
A match between the Reef ton and St. John’s (Westport) tennis teams was played on the Reefton Club’s courts over the week-end. The prayers were favoured with ideal weather, and some fine games resulted. The home team proved the winners, the scores being, Reefton 21 sets 223 games, St. John’s 10 sets 168 games. Detailed results were as follows, the Reefton players being mentioned first in each instance:—

The Nelson Bowling Club’s good will team arrived in Reef ton on Satur day in the /afternoon played three rinks from the Reefton Club on t‘he tocal green, which was in splendid order. Before commencing the games, Mi U. 11. Cleaver extended a cordial welcome to the visitors, stating that their visit was particularly appreciat c-d by the local Club, as they were the fii’st outside team to visit Reef ton this season. He wished them a goo«i game. Mr H. Crawley, the managei of the Nelson team, thanked the Reefton Club for the hearty welcome, and hoped that the green would play as good as it looked.. The Nelson men were on a goodwill trip and hoped to inrther cement the good-fellowship that prevailed among bowlers. afternoon tea. Their tour had been particularly enjoyable throughout, They had been everywhere most hospitably entertained and Reefton had given them a wholehearted West Coast welcome. He hoped that any Reefton bowlers when visiting Nelson would make themselves known, and he could assure t'hem that they would be enter tr. ned. Before departing Mr G. Simp-
son said he wished to congratulate Mr Crawley on his excellent management. Not one hitch had taken place during
the whole of their eight-day tour. A splendid car had always been at their disposal, as well as a most admirable driver and they were leaving for home next day with the very best impressions of West Coast sportsmanship.
