Under the aegis of the Greymouth Branch of the Canterbury Automobile Association, a committee has been formed for the specific purpose of preserving as far as possible, by road, river, lakeside, and beach, the natural bush of Westland as well as the bird lif«* that is incidental to our native forest. Last Friday a special meeting of the committee was called and the name of Mr E. L. Kehoe was added to the executive. On the motion of Dr. W. McKay, seconded by Mr F. Harley. Mr Kehoe was appointed secretary of the Scenic Protection Committee for the current year. It was further resolved that the Westland Progress League be written and asked to cooperate with the Scenic Protection Committee in a stand against the threatened sacrifice of a magnificent stretch of roadside hush in South Westland.
