THE WEATHER
WELLINGTON, February 14. The weather report and forecast are as follows: —
General situation: Pressure has fallen somewhat over the New Zealand area, especially at Chatham Island. Conditions are rather disturbed, especially over the north Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds variable, with south-east to north-east predominating, mainly light to moderate in force, freshening at times on the East Coast, and about Cook Strait. Seas in New Zealand waters smooth to moderate generally; rising somewhat on parts of the East Coast. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate south-east to easterly winds: and smooth to moderate seas. Weather fine on the West Coast of the South Island; elsewhere cloudy to overcast at times, and humid, misty rain is probable on the East Coast, and fog in places; elsewhere scattered rains, and in places thunder.
