BIBLE CLASS RALLY. A niw-t successful rally was held on Labour Day at the Kumara sports ground by ;.he various units of the West Coast Fresbyteri.-.n Bible t.bass Uni-n. Representatives from Christeliureh, Westport, Rotoinanu, Uuimnga, Blackball, Greyiuouth, Kumara, Hokitika and Ross were present, and participated In the interesting programme of sports and games. Rev G. Naylor presided at the rally service and welcomed the members, ami eouveved greetings from the Mayor of Kumara., (the secretary of the Bible Class Council and classes unable to he represented. The roll call disclosed that 230 members were present, and with the local visitors, including many friends from the Anglican Church the total neared 300. Rev. L. Dewair addressed Ithe gathering and captured the attention iof his hearers by his somewhat s’tartling sub. ject. venturing to suggest various ways in which his hearers might lose theii 'ives. His topical allusions were amusing, but the theme was ably worked out and constituted it chi'.Benge to the yi ung people present. The sports were run nil’ rapidly’ under I'.he direction of Mr V. D. Stevens. The challenge banners were won by St. Georges' (Christchurch) men, and St. Johns (Greymouth) ladies, the following being placing ot the various loams: Men: Si..
