GREY TROTS. Yesterday D. McKendry, who arrived early, had Wild Dream and Silver Ax worthy on the local track. It will be interesting io see these newcomers race. Al. B. Edwards brings five horses in to-day’s horse train, .1. J. Kennerley three, and C. S. Donald four. The latter are Cerberus, Red Gold, Survvivor, and Insolvent. The Introductory Handicap will display youngsters new to West Coast punters, though three of the thirteen acceptors have raced here before. Whoever can sort the winner out will find it profitable. Among Canterbury arrivals to-day will be W. K. Tatterson with Imperial Nelson, and C. Tasker with Full Hand. Mr. Geo. R. Hunter will be represented at the meeting by Shoelace, a five-year-old mare, which is making its first appearance on the Coast. Of Edwards’ team, Olive Key and Real Pal are not strangers, but Boltaire, Pelting and Endurance are making their first appearance. “Scotty” Bryce has accepted for Peter Mil Mell. The well-known, Karamea owner, J. Simpson, has a couple of good ones here, having arrived on ’Tuesday with p,in<’.m Palm and Fearless.
