Block 8, Mawheranui Survey District, and Blocks 5,9, and 10, Ahaura Survey District, commencing at the south-western end of Lake Hochstetler and being that portion of the old Nelson Creek Water Race extending from the intake at Lake Ilochstetter to Branch Race between Gorgy Creek and Gow’s Creek, a distance of approximately 6 miles, theme extending along old Branch Race in a westerly direction a distance of approximately 2 miles, thence extending along old connecting race a distance of approximately one-half mile in a southerely direction, thence extending in a north-westerly direction a distance of 2| miles to the terminal point one chain south of the wire bridge at the junction of Nelson Creek and Gow’s Creek. Length and intended course of Race: Total length 11| miles, first southerly, thence westerly, thence north-westerly, thence easterly, thence northerly, and thence generally northwesterly. Points of intake: Lake Hochstetter at south-western end. Estimated time and cost of construction: Already constructed to end of old connecting race and this'section will require to be repaired at a cost of £5OOO. From end of old connecting race to terminal point a pipe line will be used which will cost £7OOO. Mean depth and Breadth: From intake to end of old connecting race 4ft x 6ft. Pipe line section 50 inches reducing to 15 inches at terminal. Number of heads to be directed: 50 heads. Purpose for which water is to be used; Mining. Proposed Term of License: 42 years.
