(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 7. The weather report and forecast are as follows:—General situation; An anti cyclone of moderate intensity covers New Zealand, but a westerly depression is advancing rapidly across Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds are becoming northerly generally, and gale force is likely ait times in the Oook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere, moderate to strong. Seas in New Zealand waters are becoming rough south of Cape Egmont, and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds; seas rough in the southern portion: but elsewhere moderate. The weather is becoming unsettled in rhe western districts -from Taranaki southwards, with intermittent rain, and also in Otago and Southland; elsewhere. fa ir to fine. Temperature® in'ld
