A Rugby team from Westport is visiting Hokitika to-iuonow to play a return match on Cass Square with the Kiwi juniors, play stai'tiiqj at 3 p.m. The game Kiwi v. Kokatahi, will therefore not take place. The visiting- team will be tendered a complimentary dance by the Kiwi Club at the Soldiers’ Hail to -morrow evening. Witness over'ook him. am! found he was Clarke, who said he ha<l just wandered round and he was apparently sober. Witness felt his pocket, and found an unusually large amount of silver therein. Witness brought him back to Renton’s and found the door open. Then he took accused Io the police station, and charged him. finding £4 (is fid on him in. silver and two P)/- notes. After 'ockmg accused up. witness returned Io Renton’s and found a window open with marks indicating an iron wrench on Hie window sill had been used to open it. The cash register was open.
