WAIUTA-AHAURA MATCH. (To the Editor.) Sir, — Re the paragraph in the Waiuta notes as published in the issue of September 28, concerning the WaiutaAhaura match on Sunday last, your correspondent has been misinformed, and in justice to the referee, these are the true facts:—The match had been in progress for forty minutes, not fifteen. One player from each side was ordered off —not two from the Rover team. With regard to the other decisions which the Rovers were not satisfied with—unknown to the spectators —they would be well advised to forward their complaints to the powers that control the referees. In conclusion, the public certainly admired the sporty sports from Waiuta, with a handshake to the few that stood out for a carry-on.—l am, etc., SIDE-LINE.
