He spoke of the good work Cr. Armstrong of Christchurch was doing on behalf of the unemployed in that city. He was very pleased to attend the meeting. and give what information he could, to sec so many members present. The Union was carrying on along the correct lines. It was only through organisation that the workers would beter their conditions.

The local Boot Repair’ng Committee held a meeting on Tuesday to review the progress of jb.c scheme. It was decided to reduce ill boys’, girls’, ladies’ and men’s repairs by 6d; and repairs for gi-ls and boys under school, age by 3d. Pht* Committee is to give the reduced prices n tr’al for 'one month, and if it is possible to make a further eduction bv then they shall do so.
