THE WEATHER
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 3. The weather report and forecast are as follows: General situation: The recent storm is now centred east of Chatham Island. An anti-cyclone is located over the central eastern portion of Australia. Forecast; South-west to west winds prevailing, moderate mainly, but strong on parts of the west coast and in the far southern districts. Seas in New Zealand waters rather rough on part.s of the west coast and about: Fovcaux Strait; elsewhere, smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh south-west to westerly winds, and moderate seas. Weather for the most part fair to fine, but fccaittercd showers in the western ami far southern districts. Temperatures cold, with frosts 'inland.
