(Our Own Correspondent.) Mr Bert Thomas, who is an inmate of the Beef ton Hospital, is making good progress. Miss Jessie Stewart, Dunedin, L c spending a holiday here itis the guest of her sister,. Mrs J. Scott. The death occurred at Christchv. r<-h during the jweek-end of Mrs S. Eastgate. a former well-known resident of the township. Mrs A. McTaggart and Mrs P. Beyers, both Waiuta residents, are sisters. To the bereaved the sympathy of their manj' friends is extended. Mr J. Bird, Westport’s leading dental surgeon, will be visiting here this week. Miss Jean Cameron, who has been ill for the past few <weeks. is making a satisfactory recovery. Mr Robertson, senr.. who ha R been spending a holiday here, has ’•‘'turner to South Canterbury. Mrs C. Simms, who ha< been visiting Reefton. has returned. Returned soldiers of the Ah aura district intend forming i b.ar.ch in Ihat township and a meeting and re union will be held there on Friday evening. An invitation has been re ceived by the local branch to be represented. and at least one car load will be present. The annual Catholic bill will bo hold on Saturday evening in the Min ers’ Hall /and lovers of the light fantastic are reminded of this popular function. The Happiness Bovs’ Band will supply the mus : c, and TT'm. Sec rotary Bob Morrisey reports arrangements are well in hard. 'I here w’L be nove’ty dances galore, and a prize of one guinea for the Monte Carlo. Elaborate arrangements are being made for decorating. Dancing com n’.ences at S p.m.
