The Governor-General held an inves. titue at 1 Government House to-night, at which] he presented to Sir Robert Albert AUderson C.M.G. and Sir George Henry Atilsou, Boyal letters patent conferring upon them the degree, ittle and digiity of knight bachelor. His Excellent! also presented the insignia of the elmpanion of the Order of St. Michael lind St. George to Professor Robert idward Alexander, Director of Canttrbury Agricultural College, Lincoln; to James Christie, L.L.M., Parliame tary law draughtsman; ami to Geork William Hutchison. Mayor of Auckl nd; and a badge of the Companion o the. Imperial Service Order to Ward George Wohlmann, Commis sinner of Police. Other «eorations presented by His Excellentl were: The Polar Medal to Robert Alexander Falla, ornithologist at Auckllnd Institute and Museum, for service as a member of the British, Australia! and New Zealand Antarctic research I expedition 1929-1931; the Colonial I uxiliary Forces officers’ de. eoration o Major Herbert Campbell, M.C.; to lajor D.
