The Chairman said that as i*t was the lasit meeting of the year he would like to thank the members for the way in which ‘they had worked throughout
the season. Under the circumstances he was rather surprised that they had come out so well. The expenditure had been heavy, and the number of representative matches had interferred with the Club games, although they
had been an incentive to the players to keep fit. On 'the recenC trip to Christchurch they had done exceptionally well under the circumstances. From a trophy point of view it had been a year of losses and next season they would put their shoulder to 'the wheel 'to bring them back. Canterbury were to be congratulated on their success, because they had had a- number of lean years, and he was sure that the AVest C’oasit had no feeling, other than to wish them well in the advance that they were making, in conclusion he- thanked the members for their arttendance* at meetings, and expressed the hope thalt he would again see them round the table next season. He also wished to thank the Referees' Association for the good work done during the year, the public and the press. Messrs Anisy, Stokes. Hunter and R-aifhbun expressed their appreciation of Air McKane’s work as President, and hoped that he would again hold the position nexJt season.
