BASKETBALL

There were more than one hundred girls present on Friday evening at Trinity Hall, at the social which marked the end of the basketball season. Items which were greatly appreciated were rendered by J. Duggan and E. Rohloff, piano duet; Barbara AVilson, sean triubhais; Clare Keating, song; Ida McDonald, recitation; Doris AVillis, recitation; B. Bateman and U. Fentiman, duet; and thc Convent Orchestra, selections. The team games, which created much enthusiasm, resulted: Overhead Ball, Technical Old Girls; all-up relay, mixed team; firemen and buckets relay, Taylorville; there and back again relay, mixed team; spoke relay, mixed team. The President of lhe Association, Aliss AL McKay, congratulated the. winners of thc various trophies, and made the presentations as follows: — Wednesday A Grade (AlcKay Cup)— Technical Old Girls; Wednesday B Grade (Association Cup)—Technical JT; Saturday A Grade (John Burns Cup)—St. Alary’s A; Saturday B Grade (Association Cup)—Blaketown B; Tennent Cup (King’s Birthday tournament, A grade)—Technical Old Girls; Gardner Cup (King’s Birthday tournament, B grade)—Taylorville; Aloore Cup (knock-out tournament) — St. Mary’s A. A cup, anonymously donated, was presented to Technical A, as the team playing the most attractive basketball throughout the season. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mrs Kroening.
