(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, September 7. While at (work in the Matchless coal mine yesterday, Mr William Harris sustained a severe injury to an eye through being struck by a lump of coal, and it was considered advisable to send him to an eye specialist at Christchunch, and he left by yesterday afternoon’s slqw train. The) annual meeting of the Inangahua A. and P. Association was held last evening, when there was a good attendance of members, and apologieus nvere received from several absent members. The Rev. Father Seymour (President). was in the (■hair, and read 'the mnnual report, which commented upon the great success of the> year’s operations. The high standard of the exhibits at the annual show was referred to. and the hope was expressed that the attainment wou,ld result jn the Society having a wider inlluence. The cookery section. hofwever, had poor entries, and the suggestion was made to the incoming Committee that they con sider the formation of a permanen: Ladies’ Commitec to make a surer. of this .section. show showed an increased number ’>• entities and the quailty <of the exhibits brought high from th‘e judge, and the Committee desired to express their thanks to the Reefton Musical and Literary Society for the musical programme provided, and also to the Inangahuja Silver Band for its senvilces at the annual show and at the dog trials. It was recommended that the minute in the book re outside shows be rescinded and that the position be reviewed nt an early Committee meeting. It was decided to ask the Boxing Association to co-operate 'with the Association in staging a boxing tournament at the next annual show, and that the Whfppet Club bo asked to put on races. A sub-commitlee. consisting of the President, Mr J. B. Discaciati, and the Secretary, was appointed to circularise the ladies with a view to forming a permanent Ladies’ Committee.
