The Borough (Jouneil resolved on Thursday to ask the Government for an alteration of grading regulations so as to restore West Coast honey to its rightful place on the market. Cr. P. Kitchingham said the regulations were amended so that clover districts had control, whereas West Coast honey, which had suffered thereby in grading, was really of the highest quality. Cr. J. S. Robertson said the Honey Board was inimical to local apiarists. The grader had gone away leaving four or five hundred cases of local

honey ungraded at the sheds. Cr. McGinley urged an inquiry into this. Cr. F. Boust ridge said they should, ask the Government Analyst to set a standard. It was decided to enlist the aid of Mr J. The President also read poems sent in by members, which were greatly appreciated. A thrift demonstration of a child’s sock was given by Mrs Hodgkinson and the method of making rag and woollen rugs by Mr Smith, for which hearty votes of thanks were returned. Three new members were admitted.
