SCULLING
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. (Received August 24 at 9 p.m.) TORONTO, August 23. Four of the world’s leading professional scullers will compete on Friday night (not Thursday) in the first heats of the world’s professional sculling championship at the Canadian National Exhibition. They are; Pearce, Eric Phelps, Barry and Miller. Pearce, the Australian, is described as being in the best condition of his career. He is rowing more smoothlx than ever. He meets Phelps half-an-hour before Barry meets Miller. Pearce and Miller are favoured to win, thus bringing them together in the final.
