WELLINGTON BEAT AUSTRALIANS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 23. Wellington defeated the Australian hockeyites by 3 to 1 to-day in a match lacking high lights. Australia led 1 to nil at half-time. Soon after the resumption. they appeared to tire, and full-back division failed to cope -with Wellington’s fast forward line. The turf was sodden a n d treacherous. Rain discouraged spectators, the attendance being small. The s'corers were: For Australia, Cullen; for Wellington Wheatley and Watchman (2).
