JVOTICE IS TIEREBY GIVEN that the Greymnuth Borough Council will, at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Mackay Street, Greymouth. at NOON, on SATURDAY, the Bth day of SEPTEMBER, 1934, MAKE AND LEVY the following rates for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1934, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1935, namely:— 1. —A Consolidated Rate under Section 77, 95, 96 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” and Section 21 of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” of 7 278/1000 of a penny in the £ on the rateable value appearing in the Valuation Roll of all rateable property within the Borough of Greymouth on the basis of the unimproved value, such consolidated rate being required for the following purposes:— (1) As a General Rate, amounting to 3 325-1000 of a penny in the £. (2) As special security rates to meet interest and sinking fund on Borough Loans, namely:— (a) Repayment Loan of £26,838, the sum of 1 236-1000 of a penny in the £. (b) Town Improvements Loan of £20,620, the sum of 667-1000 of a penny in the £. (c) Repayment Loan of £14,400, the sum of 730-1000 of a penny in the £. (d) Antecedent .’Liability Loan of £ll.OOO, the sum of 654-1000 of a. penny in the £. (e) Cobden Bridge Loan of £3,000, the sum of 150-1000 of a penny in the £. (f) Relief of Unemployment Loan, 1927, of £l4OO. the sum of 871000 of a penny in the £. (g) Relief of Unemployment Loan, 1928, of £3OOO, the'sum of 2101000 of a penny in the £. (h) Relief of Unemployment Waterworks Loan. 1932, of £3200, the sum of 219-1000 of a penny in the £. 2. <-An amalgamated rate under Section 53 of “The Rating Act, 1925,” and Section 95 of “The Municipal Corporations Act. 1933,” and Section 52 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act,, 1926,” of .1 494-1000 of a. penny in the. £ on the capital value appearing in the Valuation Roll of all rateable property within the Borough of Greymouth, such rate being required to meet the contributions payable to the Grey Hospital Board and the payment of portion of the interest and sinking fund on the Greymouth Borough Loan No. 1 of £40,000. 3. —WATER RATES. (Ordinary supply) Under Section 82 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” on all lands and dwelling houses within the Borough of Greymouth to which water is supplied as follows: — (a) Where the Annual Rateable Value on the Valuation Roll does NOT EXCEED TWELVE BOUNDS TEN SHILLINGS, a rate of TEN SHILLINGS per annum. (b) Where such value exceeds TWELVE POUNDS TEN SHILLINGS, a’ rate of SIX PER CENTUM on the first £2OO of such value, and FIVE PER CENTUM on the third £lOO of sm-h value, and POUR PER CENTUM on so much of such value as exceeds £3OO, provided that the maximum annual value of any individual rateable property shall be deemed not to exceed £4O in respect of each dwelling house erected on sucn .property. (c) One half the respective water rates mentioned above in respect of buildings (other than dwelling houses) to which,water is supplied and in respect of lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied situate within ONE HUNDRED YARDS from any part of the waterworks. ALSO that all the above rates shall be PAYABLE at the Borough Council Office, Town Hall, Greymouth, in ONE SUM, on the 11th day of SEPTEMBER, 1934. .The Valuation Roll is now open for inspection at the Borough Council Office, Town Hall, Tarapuhi Street, Greymouth, during office hours.
