Petition to Parliament concerning the FIVE-YEAR-OLDS A Petition to Parliament asking for the repeal ot the legislation excluding the five-year-olds from State schools is now being circulated in your district. During the past two years Householders' Meetings throughout the Dominion have passed resolutions protesting against the legislation. Teachers have time and again stated the case for the children and for the profession Ample proof has been offered that the curtailment of expenditure on the education of young children is in no sense a real economy The time has arrived for a further effort to persuade the Government to reconsider its decision More than this, the presentation of a Petition should ensure the taking of evidence by the Education Committee of the House. Sign the Petition and help to secure the repeal of the legislation and the re-admission ot the five-year-olds. SIGN THE PETITION! Published by the Vew Zealand Educational Institute
