The Wellington City Council agreed last evening ‘that award rates of pay and conditions shall- apply to men en> ployed on -works authorised under the £lO.OOO vote from the Electricity Department, subject to the General Labourer’s Union agreeing to waive the conditions of a 45 j for a 40 hour week and 'holidays, and suburban work clause,s in the award .It was also agred that half I‘lie 10 per cent cut made in 1931 in the rates of pay allowed to drivers of hired drays contracting with the corporation be restored from Julv 1. 1934.
